
Azadeh Alimadad

Azadeh Alimadad is a Statistician, Data Analytics Educator, and interdisciplinary researcher with over 15 years of experience in mathematical modeling, biostatistics, and predictive data analysis. She earned her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Science from Simon Fraser University, where her research integrated statistics, mathematics, and health sciences to address complex population-level challenges.
Azadeh’s academic and professional work focuses on advancing data-driven methods that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in decision-making and policy development. She has held teaching and research positions at Langara College, City University of Seattle, BCIT, and Simon Fraser University, where she has developed and taught courses in statistics, data analytics, and predictive modeling.
Her research contributions include numerous publications and government technical reports addressing healthcare system modeling, disease surveillance, and social system dynamics. Azadeh’s current work explores integrating artificial intelligence and analytics into public and financial systems to enhance accessibility, improve outcomes, and support evidence-based reform. Guided by EDI principles, her mission is to bridge rigorous analytics with compassion and inclusivity to ensure that innovation serves people and communities equitably.

Vahid Dabbaghian

Vahid Dabbaghian is a researcher, educator, and innovator with over 20 years of academic and interdisciplinary experience across Canada’s leading institutions. Holding a Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics from Carleton University, he has taught and led research in mathematical modeling, data analytics, and AI integration at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
As a Program Director at SFU, Vahid has led diverse projects in complex systems modeling and data-driven policy analysis, collaborating with government agencies across health, justice, and public safety sectors. His work has produced numerous technical reports, informed decision-making processes, and involved mentoring many emerging researchers from different disciplines.
A recipient of an NSERC Discovery Grant and contributor to over 40 scholarly publications, Vahid continues to advance interdisciplinary research that connects theory with application. His current passion is to apply his expertise in mathematics, data science, and artificial intelligence to address real-life challenges that impact people’s well-being. Guided by the principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), his mission is to bridge scientific knowledge and practical innovation to enhance the quality of life for individuals and communities.

Elham Zamiri

Elham Zamiri is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in human resources administration, project management, and scientific research. She brings a unique combination of analytical thinking, leadership, and people-centered values to her work.
Elham holds a Master of Administrative Science in Human Resources from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Vancouver, British Columbia, as well as a Master of Nuclear Engineering and a Bachelor of Physics. Her multidisciplinary education has strengthened her ability to approach challenges with both strategic insight and analytical precision.
With extensive experience as a Research Project Manager and in human resources, Elham has successfully led teams, managed complex projects, and supported inclusive workplace practices. She is passionate about advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and fostering environments where individuals feel respected, supported, and empowered to contribute their best.
After moving to Canada, Elham sought to broaden her professional experience within a multicultural, diverse, and inclusive environment. Her work continues to reflect her commitment to embracing global perspectives, building connections across communities, and championing EDI values in every aspect of her professional journey.
Through her leadership at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver, Elham continues to promote collaboration, professional growth, and community connection—creating positive experiences for both staff and program participants.

Ali Dinarveis

Ali Dinarveis is a member of the Service & Production team at ITEM Group (Intelligent Technology & Evolutionary Modeling), where he helps transform innovative research into inclusive, community-oriented solutions. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Optics Engineering, combining a strong scientific foundation with entrepreneurial vision and a passion for social impact.
Recognized during university as one of the youngest entrepreneurs in his field, Ali received awards for his innovative startup initiatives and continues to apply that spirit of creativity in his professional work. Over the years, he has built extensive experience across multiple industries — including insurance, food and hospitality, construction, health, finance, and digital marketing. After immigrating to Canada, he served as a General Manager for a multinational company, strengthening his expertise in leadership, business development, and cross-sector collaboration.
At ITEM Group, Ali contributes to developing and delivering services and technologies that empower individuals and communities — particularly families with older adults, children with disabilities, and non-profit organizations supporting vulnerable populations. Guided by the principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), he strives to ensure that innovation remains accessible, ethical, and compassionate.
